Thanks to the Canada Media Fund, Telefilm Canada, the Bell Fund, the IPF and our different partners, our P·R·I·S·M·E (Producers of African Descent and Racialized People Integrated for an Equitable Media Sector) program has been renewed for a sixth year !
We are therefore looking for a program manager who will work alongside instructors, partners, and cohort members to create an environment conducive to the professionalization of these new players in the audiovisual sector and thus support the emergence of new, diverse, and inspiring cinematic voices.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the General Director:
- Update the call for applications and verify the compliance of the applications received
- Organize the selection committees (cohort, pitch, etc.)
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate the program (training and complementary activities) and monitor other related programs/activities/important dates to ensure complementarity
- Recruit all instructors and participating professionals, book and manage the classroom space and external venues
- Develop new partnerships and strengthen existing ones
- Update the cohort member guide
- Implement the communications strategy and manage social media in accordance with partner requirements
- Monitor the smooth running of all activities and the impact of the training (including statistics, evaluation questionnaires, post-mortem meetings)
- Monitor the budget and partnerships
- Prepare reports and other relevant documents
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Higher education degree, ideally in management and/or film studies.
- Solid experience in project coordination, film production, cultural management, or any other relevant experience.
- Quick-wit and open-mindedness, with strong organizational and prioritization skills, rigor, and attention to detail.
- Strategic and global vision. Ability to connect different points to form a coherent whole.
- Proactivity, a commitment to continuous improvement, problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and under tight deadlines
- Autonomy, collaborative spirit, diplomacy
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of the film industry, production, the industry’s financing system, and related realities is an asset
- Excellent writing skills
- Bilingual in French and English
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Self-employed contract for 780 hours at $25/hour ($19,500) to be spread between March and the end of November (39 weeks). Please note that the program has no activities planned for July and August.
On-site position with office provided (2025 Parthenais Street). Please note that the training room is located at the same address.
