Thanks to the Canada Media Fund, Telefilm Canada, the Bell Fund, the IPF and our various partners, our P-R-I-S-M-E program (Producteur.trice.s afrodescendant-e-s et Racisé-e-s Intégré-e-s pour un Secteur Médiatique Équitable) has been renewed for a 5th year.
We’re looking for a program manager who will work alongside our speakers, partners and cohort members to create an environment conducive to the professionalization of these new players in the audiovisual sector, and thus support the emergence of new, diverse and inspiring cinematic voices.
TASK DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the General Manager and the Creative Support Programs Manager :
- Updating the call for applications and verifying compliance of files received
- Organization of selection committees (cohort, pitch, etc.)
- Planning, programming and coordinating the program (training and complementary activities) and keeping a strategic watch on other related programs/activities/important dates to ensure complementarity
- Recruitment of all speakers and participating professionals, booking and venue management
- Development of new partnerships and strengthening of existing ones
- Updating of the cohort members’ guide
- Development of a communications strategy in conjunction with Main Film’s communications manager and in line with partner requirements
- Monitoring of all activities and the impact of training (statistics, evaluation questionnaires, post-mortem meetings), as well as an exhaustive study of the 4 previous cohorts
- Monitoring of budget and partnerships
- Preparation of reports and other relevant documents
- Preliminary research work for P-R-I-S-M-E 6 funding and set-up and follow-up of a discussion/reflection group on the program’s follow-up
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Post secondary degree, ideally in management and/or film studies
- Solid experience in project coordination, film production, cultural management, or any other relevant experience
- Bright, open mind, strong sense of organization and priorities, rigor and attention to detail
- Strategic and global vision; ability to link different points into a coherent whole
- Initiative, drive for continuous improvement, problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage several priorities at once and under tight deadlines
- Autonomy, collaborative spirit, diplomacy
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of the film industry, production, the industry’s financing system and related realities, an asset
- Excellent writing skills
- Bilingual French – English
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
Self-employed contract of 780 hours at $25/hour ($19,500) between March and the end of November (39 weeks). Please note that the program has no scheduled activities in July and August.
In-person position with office provided (2025 rue Parthenais). Please note that the training premises are at the same address.
