Twenty-year-old Roche is preparing to leave her childhood home for Western Canada. Her family gathers for one last breakfast together. Between her sister’s awkwardness and her parents’ raw emotions, everyone tries to delay her imminent departure. Roche remains stoic, until she bursts into tears, alone in her car.

(tri)Cycle Support Program

(tri)Cycle is a Main Film program that supports the creation of short fiction films. The program is open to independent filmmakers, regardless of their experience. Applicants must retain full creative and editorial control over all aspects of the project. In keeping with our organization’s mission, the goal of (tri)Cycle is to support, accompany, and encourage independent filmmakers with a strong and daring artistic commitment.

Through this program, selected artists will benefit from expert advice from recognized professionals and have access to our filming equipment free of charge, up to a value of $10,000, for four months!

The program supports three filmmakers per year, or one project per cycle. The project to be supported is determined by an external selection committee composed of a director, a producer, and a member of a distribution company.

The deadline for the second cycle for the 2025-2026 year is October 1, 2025.
