Series and webseries are increasingly occupying our screens. At the crossroads of different narrative formats, how are they created?
In this workshop, you’ll learn the differences between linear and fragmented writing, the various styles and structures, and the basics of scripting this kind of fiction. The course will be based on Florence Lafond’s experience as a screenwriter and director.
The workshop will be given in French but questions may be asked in English.

Florence Lafond
Florence Lafond is a screenwriter and director. She holds a bachelor’s degree in cinema from UQÀM and co-wrote, with Éric Piccoli, the series Je voudrais qu’on m’efface, adapted from the novel by Anaïs Barbeau-Lavalette. Florence was also a finalist in the Cours écrire ton court competition (2020) for her screenplay Jusqu’à ce que tu meures, which also received a production grant from CALQ. In addition to developing her first feature film, Florence is currently working on writing several other upcoming series. Having worked for a long time in the community, she is particularly interested in social cinema, which dares to address the class divisions of our time.
