This theoretical and practical workshop explores the many bases of sound creation: sound recording, editing and audio-digital processes. The instructor will also introduce you to experimental sound design and editing based on his own work.
With exercises given every week, the workshop leads to the practical application of what you’ve learned between classes.

From Ambient to Acousmatic music, from Noise to cinematic sound design, the tools and processes covered will enable exploration of a multitude of different sound arts.

A must for artists wishing to tap into the infinite potential of sound to express themselves!

Ilyaa Ghafouri

Ilyaa Ghafouri is a composer and sound designer for film and theater. A 2018 graduate of the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal, his studies in experimental music focused on a hybrid approach. Pairing concrete sounds such as nature’s ambiences with instrumental sounds is at the heart of his approach. This allows him to draw from the sounds of the world around him to inspire his music. Composing for film, in conjunction with sound design, allows him to create coherent, thoughtful and unique soundscapes. Ilyaa takes advantage of every experience to perfect his craft.
