Meeting Series.1 : Renewing fiction storytelling

A film is bound by numerous codes at every stage of its creation. What happens when filmmakers play with these rules, proposing their own singular vision? Or by mixing cinematic genres?
From scriptwriting to editing, Lawrence Côté-Collins, Philippe Grégoire, Sophie Bédard-Marcotte and Miryam Charles will share their creative processes, aspirations and the personal artistic approach behind each film.

ⓒ Clément Isaac

Driven by a curiosity for new knowledge, Matthew Wolkow creates a cinema that reveals the people he meets and the stories that emerge. Situated between essay and experiment, rubbing shoulders with reality, imagination, words, music and sensoriality, his work benefits from this hybridity where form is approached as resolution. In October 2021, the Cinémathèque québécoise will devote its first retrospective to his work.
