Living in a moving truck because they can’t find a place to live: absurdity borders on reality amid a shortage of affordable housing. This is the punchline of “How long did you rent the truck for?”, a ten-minute social drama exploring the new faces of the affordable housing crisis—namely, those of people who appear capable of finding housing but are actually living in invisible homelessness.

An author actively involved in her neighborhood’s La Rue de la Poésie, Jolène Ruest has lived in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve for seventeen years. Support programme (tri)Cycle
(tri)Cycle is a Main Film program that supports the creation of short fiction films. The program is open to independent filmmakers, regardless of their experience. Applicants must retain full creative and editorial control over all aspects of the project. In keeping with our organization’s mission, the goal of (tri)Cycle is to support, mentor, and encourage independent filmmakers with a strong and bold artistic vision.
Through this program, over the course of four months, selected artists will receive expert advice from recognized professionals and have free access to our filming equipment valued at up to $10,000!
The program supports three filmmakers per year, or one project per cycle. The project to be supported is determined by an external selection committee composed of a director, a producer, and a member of a distribution company.
The application deadline for the first cycle of the 2026-2027 academic year is June 1st, 2026.
